The Story Behind The Bottle
Habits Bottle Shop
Pinhook High Proof Bourbon Whiskey is a small-batch Kentucky bourbon from Pinhook, drawn from the distillery's 2023 vintage and aged more than four years before bottling. Pinhook releases its whiskeys as annual vintages rather than a fixed recipe, so each year's High Proof offers its own take on the house style while staying true to the brand's bold, cask-forward character.
On the nose, expect warm molasses, roasted peanuts, and caramel. The palate builds on that richness with baked apricot, vanilla, and burnt sugar, all carried by a high-proof backbone that gives the whiskey plenty of weight and a long, warming finish.
Sip it neat or with a single large ice cube to let the caramel and stone-fruit notes open up, or use it as the backbone of a stirred cocktail like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. It also pairs nicely with grilled peaches, roasted nuts, or aged cheddar.
