Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon Whiskey was released in fall 2019 with a clear goal: an affordable everyday bourbon that still carries that unmistakable Smoke Wagon signature of delicate sweetness balanced by a rye-spice finish. Barrels sharing the brand's high-rye mash bill were racked on the top two floors of the warehouse and left in place, never rotated.The higher floors run hotter in summer, driving more expansion and deeper movement into the wood, and because the whiskey isn't chill filtered, these combined factors create a bourbon that tastes rich and creamy well beyond its years. Never rotating the barrels also avoids harsh tannin flavors, while the high-rye mash bill adds a spicy, nutty finish that lingers pleasantly.
Enjoy it neat to appreciate its rich texture, or on the rocks for easy, everyday sipping. It also mixes well in a classic Old Fashioned.
